Lately I’ve been exploring a new series of works Lately I’ve been exploring a new series of works around stillness and presence. I’ve always been drawn to the Symbolist painters — Klimt, Odilon Redon, even Paul Klee — and how they used shape and form to suggest something more than the surface. This work in progress plays with composition in that same spirit: abstract forms holding a kind of quiet energy, a figure emerging, light filtering through layers of paint. I’m interested in how colour and shape together can create that sense of presence, without needing to define it.
