Artist Statement:

My paintings begin in stillness, guided by meditation and intuition. I create layered surfaces using collage, acrylic washes, oil pastel, and oil paint, allowing each painting to unfold through a process of revealing and concealing. Angels and symbolic forms often emerge, offering a quiet language of connection, memory, and presence. These works invite stillness and reflection, encouraging a return to what is felt rather than explained. I’m drawn to the silent resonance within all things—a subtle frequency where energy and light converge. Each painting becomes a gentle threshold between this world and something more.

Artist Bio

Iaysha Salih is a British artist based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Born and raised in London, her creativity emerged early—while other children played with dolls, she was already immersed in sketchbooks and colour. Her practice has been shaped more by experience than convention, informed by years of travel through Asia, South America, and Australia, where encounters with landscapes, cultures, and rituals deepened her connection to the symbolic and spiritual. Although self-taught in her early years, she later refined her approach through studies at the Art Academy in London and the Milan Art Institute. Her paintings have been commissioned and exhibited internationally, and are held in both private and corporate collections—including Barclays Bank, The Spa Hotel, and the flagship offices of Saga Insurance.

A subtle complexity and a sense of spiritual resonance define the work. Her paintings begin in meditation, unfolding as a layered interplay between surface and suggestion. Collage, transparent washes, and soft marks build atmospheres that oscillate between concealment and revelation. From these layers, forms emerge—sometimes abstract, sometimes stylised—inviting a sense of recognition. Whether angelic, floral, or symbolic, the imagery carries an energy that extends beyond physical form. Rather than focusing on depiction, her work holds a sense of presence—opening a contemplative state where energy, light, and inner knowing meet. “Art is one of the few wonders that speak to you without uttering a word,” she notes—a sentiment that captures its quiet potency and ability to move beneath language.

Iaysha’s studio sits nestled in the garden of her Tunbridge Wells home—a peaceful, light-filled setting surrounded by trees, birdsong, and the occasional visit from Miss Clementine, her cat. This environment supports an evolving body of work that explores the relationship between the seen and unseen, and the felt presence of something sacred. Recent series such as Heaven Scent and Where the Angels Play imagine the gentle ways angelic energies might move through daily life, while her abstract works evoke fields of light and colour that speak to an inner landscape. Each painting invites the viewer to pause—to sense, reflect, and return to something quietly known. Plans include expanding this conversation through exhibitions, collaborations, and new collections that continue to explore light, memory, and presence.
